Sony ZV-E10 II Mirrorless Camera (Black)
With enhanced features that expand upon its content creation-focused predecessor, the Sony ZV-E10 II is equipped with a 26-megapixel APS-C sensor for faster performance and high-quality images in a compact form factor designed for vloggers. This aligns the ZV-E10 II with proven models such as the FX30 and a6700. Built-in creative shooting modes, a 3-capsule directional microphone, and a 3-inch articulating LCD touchscreen with vertical orientation support and built-in metering light make it a powerful all-around vlogging device. Other notable upgrades with the ZV-E10 II include a 759-point phase detection autofocus system, an AI processing unit, and compatibility with the higher-capacity NP-FZ100 batteries.
Vlogging Features
Optimized camera design
- A 3" 1.04m-dot rear touchscreen with a flip-up design lets you easily film yourself or take selfies with ease. When recording, a built-in spotlight creates a red border around the LCD screen. If you're filming vertically for TikTok or Instagram, your LCD screen will also flip to display information vertically.
- A 3-capsule directional microphone is specifically designed for forward-facing audio recording for vlogging and interview applications. A dedicated windscreen minimizes distortion when filming outdoors.
- 3.5mm microphone and headphone ports are also available for more advanced audio recording, and the Multi Interface Shoe also benefits from audio recording capabilities. This accessory shoe supports a digital audio interface that helps reduce noise during recording and also eliminates cable clutter and the need for external power when working with compatible shoe-mounted mics.
Connectivity and Live Streaming
The ZV-E10 II's ports include a micro-HDMI video output and a USB-C data output, making it easy to share video to a compatible computer or mobile device. You can even live stream to social media using the USB-C data port or the built-in 5 GHz Wi-Fi. RTMP, RTMPS, and SRT streaming protocols are supported, as well as UVC standards, allowing you to use the camera as a webcam.
Specialized Firing Modes
- The Product Showcase setting is ideal for vlogging and product reviews or demo videos and allows for quick and smooth focus transitions between a subject's face and an object in front of the lens.
- Background Defocus allows you to immediately jump to the attached lens's maximum aperture setting, using a custom button function, to isolate your subject using shallow depth of field and bokeh.
- Focus breathing compensation actively corrects any visual distortion that might occur when manually or automatically switching your camera's focus.
- Slow & Quick (S&Q) mode allows shooters to capture Full HD videos at specified speeds between 1-120 fps. These settings will allow you to slow down the action as well as speed up a slow-moving scene.
Image quality, autofocus and 4K video
26-megapixel APS-C Exmor R CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR processor
Similar to the sensor found on the flagship FX30 or a6700, the ZV-E10 II features a 26MP APS-C-sized Exmor CMOS sensor for smooth, nuanced image quality with minimal noise. A high sensitivity range of ISO 100-32000 can be extended to ISO 102400 for increased low-light performance. The sensor works in tandem with an improved BIONZ XR processor for 8x faster performance with an increased oversampling area of 5.6K.
Increased phase detection
The ZV-E10 II features a 759-point fast hybrid phase detection and AI processing unit for improved subject recognition. Real-time AF can prioritize focusing on human or animal eyes for assured sharpness when shooting portraits. When selected, this function is activated by half-pressing the shutter button, and you can also choose to prioritize the right or left eye. Real-time Tracking uses AI-based algorithms and automatically recognizes and tracks moving subjects. If Face/Eye Priority AF is enabled, this tracking method will further track a subject's eye or face in real time based on the subject's moving state.
4K video recording
UHD 4K video recording is possible up to 60p and uses full pixel readout with 5.6K oversampling to give more detail with reduced moiré and aliasing. Full HD 1080p recording is also supported in frame rates up to 120 frames per second, and both resolutions use the 600Mbps XAVC HS and XAVC SI formats with 4:2:2 sampling. The camera includes S-Cinetone and S-Log 3 color, allowing for greater control over color grading and full use of the 14-stop dynamic range. You can also assign LUTs or use Creative Looks mode to apply preset color effects to your footage while shooting.
Larger battery capacity
To accommodate the NP-FZ100 battery, the ZV-E10 II now has a slightly larger body while maintaining an overall compact form factor for portability. When using the NP-FZ100 battery, you can now record approximately 610 shots per charge for an increase of 30 % compared to the previous model. Power can also be supplied to the camera via the USB-C port or using the optional AC adapter.
