A masterpiece
of absolute immersion.

It's the full-frame mirrorless camera for those who sweat the smallest detail. Ultra-high 45.7-megapixel resolution without an optical low-pass filter. The power of dual processors. 4K Ultra HD video at 60p. The next generation of the 493-point autofocus system. High-speed shooting with the buffer capacity to match. Dual card slots. Tons of creative features. Flexible power options. Vertical battery grip compatibility. Wireless connectivity with smartphones, laptops, and more.

MORE
OF EVERYTHING

THE Z 7II builds on the professional photography capabilities of the Z mirrorless platform with better image quality, wider range, faster speed, more workflow improvements… more of everything you want in a high-performance camera.

Strive for perfection.

Two processors.

For the first time in a Nikon camera, the Z 7II is powered by not one, but two processing engines EXPEED 6. They work together for faster image processing, larger buffer capacity, and overall greater speed.

Two card slots.

Now you have options. One slot accepts CF Express (Type B) and XQD cards. The other slot accepts standard SD cards. Use whichever format you prefer. Or use both slots and separate RAW files from JPEGs, create a backup, or maximize your onboard storage.

45.7 MP sensor.

THE Z 7II uses Nikon's highest-resolution backside-illuminated CMOS sensor without an optical low-pass filter. When paired with the lens NIKKOR Z, the result is terrific. Some of the sharpest, most detailed RAW and JPG images you can imagine.

Wider dynamic range.

From deep blacks to sparkling whites and Nikon's superior color science, the Z 7II exhibits exceptional dynamic range in photos and videos, from ISO 64 to 25,600.

Go vertical.

Presentation of MB-N11, the professional level handle for the Z 7IIProfessionals will appreciate its vertical shooting controls (shutter, command dials, “Function” button and more) while landscape, sports, wedding and nature photographers will appreciate the 1.9x increase in battery performance*.

* The 1.9x performance is achieved when using two EN-EL15c batteries to power the MB-N11, instead of using only the EN-EL15c battery in the camera.

More autofocus power.

THE Z 7II builds on Nikon's flagship 493-point hybrid autofocus system, with improvements to low-light performance, new options for eye-detection autofocus, and easier selection of autofocus modes.

See in the dark.

With a big leap forward in low-light autofocus performance, the Z 7II can find your subject in conditions with half the light of its predecessor*. Keep shooting in the evening with the same fast and accurate autofocus performance.

* Detection range for autofocus starts at -4.5 EV

Edge-to-edge coverage.

The 90 % frame coverage of the autofocus system lets you compose the way you want, right from the start. Manually choose one of the 493 focus points in the frame, or let subject tracking automatically select focus points based on where the subject is in the frame, even at the far edges.

Eye detection.Better than ever.

Nikon's Intelligent Eye Detection AF quickly identifies and locks on eyes (whether human, dog, or cat) for appropriately focused portraits. Z 7IIbuilds on the system with accuracy improvements and greater flexibility.

Right on target.

You can now use the "wide area" (L) mode to set the limits of eye detection. Select an area of the frame, and Z 7II will only search for eyes, which is ideal for busy scenes, group shots and pet portraits.

Capture the eyes. On video.

All these eye-detection autofocus features are also available when recording video. Easily track moving subjects and keep images that look sharp and professional to the eye.

Create. In a camera.

THE Z 7II packed with innovative features to boost your creativity.

Multiple exposure

Combine up to 10 exposures into one visionary composition. Compose and blend (right in the viewfinder) while shooting, or come back later and compose shots with the camera's editing features.

900 secondsexhibition

Paint with light. Follow the path of the stars. Capture movement like never before with long exposures of up to 900 seconds. Use your smartphone to trigger the shutter and avoid camera shake.

Capture with focus change

THE Z 7II will take a series of up to 300 photos, each with a gradually adjusted focus position. Use third-party software to combine (focus stacking) the photos into a single image with surreal depth of field and sharpness.

RAW 10 IPS with
3.3x buffer capacity*

Capture decisive shots of fast action with 10 frames per second continuous shooting – in RAW or full-resolution JPEG with exposure/focus tracking.

* Compared to Z 7 with 12-bit lossless recording of compressed RAW files to a CFexpress card

Fast-motion sequences

Shooting time-lapse sequences is as simple as setting up the camera and setting a record. Z 7II will create a 4K time-lapse movie and save all photos at full resolution (when used with Time Lapse shooting).

4K Ultra HD
at 60p.

It's here. Bring the superb image quality of the Z 7II to your video work. For maximum definition and flexibility, record in 4K Ultra HD at 60p*, 30p, 25p or 24p. Or create silky-smooth slow-motion sequences with Full HD 120p.

* 8-bit and FX format (93 % UHD sensor coverage) only

Keep it simple. Or take the plunge.

If you want to keep things simple, record your 4K footage in-camera to a CFexpress, XQD, or SD card. To take it further, you can attach an external recorder (sold separately) to capture 10-bit N-Log or HDR (HLG) images. Or go all the way with a paid firmware upgrade and a compatible external recorder* and output in RAW ProRes 12 bits or Blackmagic RAW** via HDMI.

* Such as Atomos Ninja (ProRes RAW) or Blackmagic Design Video Assist 12G HDR recorder (Blackmagic RAW).

** Black Magic RAW support via paid firmware upgrade available in February 2021.

The stability you need.

Powerful 5-axis VR image stabilization keeps your photos sharp and your videos steady up to five stops in five directions* (yaw, pitch, roll, X and Y). Easy handheld shooting.

* When using lenses NIKKOR Z; according to CIPA standards. This value is achieved when the objective NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S is mounted, with the zoom set to full telephoto.

Invert focus rotation.

If you have used lenses from a brand other than Nikon for your video work, the Z 7II allows you to reverse the rotation of the focus ring on lenses NIKKOR Z. Your muscle memory will thank you.

Experience it
from Nikon.

Each new generation of Nikon cameras brings improved handling, more intuitive operation, and time-saving workflow improvements. Yet, each generation also retains that undeniable Nikon superiority.

This feeling of perfection.

Like all Nikon cameras, the Z 7II Handles like a dream. Wide-grip design. Balanced weight. Sturdy construction with smart button placement. Even the electronic viewfinder is thoughtfully elongated to prevent your nose from pressing against the back of the camera.

Robust.
As expected.

THE Z 7II is ready for what's next. Its skeleton is forged from magnesium alloy for an optimal balance of strength and lightness. Its exterior is fully weather-sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture. You'll love its durability.

More clarity.
Less occultation.

Enjoy the best possible view with the advanced viewfinder of the Z 7II, with minimal blackout between shots during high-speed shooting (Continuous H). Nikon optics magnify the 3.6-million-dot Quad-VGA electronic viewfinder, and what you see is what your photo will look like. Exposure, ISO, white balance, Picture Control, and Creative Filters are all applied in real time. You can customize the information displayed in the viewfinder, or hide everything for a pure view.

Make it yours.

Prefer the back button? Do you often switch between image controls? Need a quick way to select the focus area? No problem. Add your favorite functions to the i-Menu, then access them from the LCD screen or EVF. Customize the “Function” buttons or reassign buttons you don’t usually use to activate your modes, menus, or settings. Navigating the camera’s clean, intuitive user interface is a breeze.

Help. At your fingertips.

Not sure what a setting does? Just press the (?) button and a brief explanation will appear in the viewfinder or on the LCD screen. It's like having a quick reference guide built into your camera.

The Z 7II is compatible with all of these lenses, each offering a new perspective and drawing peak performance from the camera.

Plays well with F-mount lenses.
