Featuring a wide field of vision and an optimized design, the NIKKOR Z 24mm f/1.8 S of Nikon is a versatile wide-angle lens well-suited to a range of subjects, including landscapes, architecture, and reportage. Featuring an advanced optical layout, this prime lens incorporates a series of aspherical and extra-low dispersion elements, which produce sharp, well-corrected images with a high degree of clarity. In addition, Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coatings are used to suppress flare and ghosting for greater color fidelity and higher contrast.
Complementing the optical design, a multi-focus system, which utilizes two stepping motors, helps achieve incredibly fast, precise, and quiet focusing performance, as well as full-time manual focus override, to meet the needs of both stills and video. In addition, a programmable control ring can be set for intuitive adjustment to a variety of camera and exposure settings.
- The Prime Wide Angle Lens is designed for FX-format Z-mount mirrorless cameras.
- The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture is suitable for working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers increased control over depth of field.
- An extra-low dispersion element significantly reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations to produce greater clarity and color rendering.
- Four aspherical elements are used to reduce spherical aberrations and distortions to achieve sharp images with accurate rendering.
- A nano crystal layer, along with a super integrated coating, has been applied to the lens elements to minimize surface and internal reflections for a marked reduction in lens flare and ghosting.
- The multi-focus system incorporates two separate AF drive units, which are synchronized, to deliver particularly fast and precise focusing performance. This system uses stepping motors, which provide incredibly smooth and quiet autofocus qualities, which are well suited to both stills and video applications. Full-time manual focus override is also possible and an internal focusing design is used, where only the internal lens groups are moved during focusing, to maintain the overall length of the lens during use and to promote faster focusing speeds.
- The programmable control ring is, by default, configured to adjust manual focus, but can also be used to control aperture or exposure compensation.
- The specialized electromagnetic aperture mechanism provides greater exposure control stability, which is particularly beneficial when working with fast continuous firing rates.
- The dust and moisture resistant lens barrel benefits the use of the lens in adverse conditions.
