Do not confuse the DJI Flip drone with a toy. This mighty little drone may be small, but it packs a powerful punch when it comes to creating aerial content. Physically, the Flip is a foldable quadcopter that transforms like no other. Each arm, motor, propeller, and propeller guard are a single piece, with all four twisting and folding underneath the Flip for ultimate portability. Smart flight
- FocusTrack: This mode includes Spotlight 2.0, Point of Interest 3.0, and ActiveTrack 4.0. Each mode tracks a subject while filming. Spotlight always faces the subject while allowing you to manually fly around it. Point of Interest flies within a set radius and flight speed. ActiveTrack follows a moving person at a specific distance and altitude.
- MasterShots: Select your subject and Flip will fly along a predefined route, automatically taking multiple aerial photos. These shots can then be edited into a final cinematic composition with effects and music.
- QuickShots: Press the Flip's mode button to select the desired mode, and the Flip will do the rest, automatically performing the maneuver and recording a short video. You can choose from six maneuvers: Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Spotlight, Helix, and Boomerang.
- Hyperlapse: Set a time interval and Hyperlapse mode will take a certain number of photos each time, then stitch them together to create a video. You can choose from four Hyperlapse types: freeform, circular, locked, and waypoint. Each horizontal video can be recorded in 4K resolution, and vertical videos in 2.7K resolution.
- Panorama: Capture vast natural and urban landscapes with 180°, wide angle, vertical and sphere modes.
- Cruise Control: Just like your car, when you have Flip at your desired speed, activate cruise control to automatically fly and film at that speed for shake-free results compared to manual piloting.
Control
You have several options for controlling the Flip. Insert your smartphone into the included RC-N3 controller and launch the DJI Fly app to pilot the Flip, select shooting modes, and transfer footage via Wi-Fi at a speed of 30 Mbps. You can also control the drone with a "Hey Fly" and various voice flight instructions.

Safety doesn't just come from the DJI Flip's built-in propeller guards. It's also equipped with a 3D infrared sensing system. So, day or night, when you're flying the Flip, this forward-facing sensor can detect obstacles and automatically brake to avoid collisions.
